Jonathan was admitted in October 1995.
Having served his articles at Kingsford Stacy where he was, on qualification, taken on in the corporate commercial department as a solicitor, being promoted to associate in 1998 and to partner in 1999.
In January 2002, Jonathan joined Collyer Bristow as a partner and was made Head of the Corporate team in 2005, responsible for a team of 5 partners and three assistants.
In February 2007, Jonathan joined Irvine and Partners LLP. Having been instrumental in the foundation and continuation of Irvine and Partners, Jonathan and Kimberly Shaw decided to follow the same advice that they often give to their clients and adopted a modern structure which was why Charterhouse Law Limited came into existence.
Jonathan specialises in all aspects of corporate and commercial work, (including conveyancing) from incorporation through to merger, flotation, sale or, on rare occasions, winding up. Jonathan is also experienced in corporate recovery work.
Jonathan advises a wide range of clients from administrators and liquidators, individuals with ideas, through experienced entrepreneurs to public companies on transactions which have, so far, raised from between £1 to £82,000,000. Jonathan enjoys watching his clients grow and becoming an integral part of their team as they develop and is equally comfortable advising individuals as the boards of listed companies.
Jonathan holds an advanced diploma in corporate finance from the Institute of Chartered Accountants which enables him to comfortably, and confidently, advise companies on their financial requirements from start up funding through to venture capital investment and can help them chart their course through the funding documents and requirements of the investors, including likely security.
Jonathan is a member of the Institute of Directors, the Corporate Finance Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Old Cholmleian Business Section.
Admitted February 1991, Kimberly is an employment specialist. On qualification she worked at Penningtons in the commercial litigation department dealing with mainly shareholder litigation and employment.
Following a 6 year period at Edward Lewis, Kimberly moved to Collyer Bristow as a partner in the employment team in 2000 and became head if the employment team in 2005.
In July 2007, Kimberly joined Irvine and Partners LLP. Kimberly undertakes all areas of contentious and non contentious employment work, including unfair and wrongful dismissals, redundancies, reorganisation and restructuring. Kimberly advises regularly on a range of discrimination issues including harassment, victimisation and bullying cases including claims brought under the Protection of Harassment Act. She advises on restrictive covenants and confidential information matters. Kimberly advises on high court contractual claims including bonus claims and breach of redundancy policies.
Kimberly acts for companies and senior executive on terminations including advising in relation to share options and benefits. She also regularly advises companies on TUPE issues and outsourcing.
Kimberly lectures and gives seminars together with management training to companies on handling a variety of HR and employment issues in the workplace.
Kimberly is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
